Flaminga (School art) by JemiDove Flaminga (School art) by JemiDove
A hatching/cross-hatching work of my favourite plush toy, Flaminga (actual model name: Pinky, of Ty Beanie Babies). Squiggling was used for the scarf/rope around her neck, and dotting/pointillism was used for the bracelet on her ankle. My lecturer said I have a greater affinity towards ink than other mediums, but the contrast in this could've been better (I was too worried about covering up mistakes that I kept hatching over them, making the entire artwork darker and darker as I progressed x_x Surely I had done better in the past before enrolling in this course! Love shot by JemiDoveOverShadowed by size by JemiDove

I really wanna upload more school art, but shan't for now because it's not yet time for online portfolio submission and I don't want people to just take my images and claim them for their own portfolio :shakefist: After the June holidays, I guess.

Artwork by JemiDove.
Subject/Module: Design Fundamentals
Medium: Black pen on A3 smooth ivory card (sketched in HB pencil)
Time taken: About 4 hours
Date: 28 April 2014
Do not use/alter/repost any of my artworks/designs or claim them as your own.

I actually have this one!

I love the shading in this! You can really tell the texture of the fabric! What amazes me the most is how you were able to represent how the light affects it! I love how in some areads, you can tell it's intented or obscured from the light, but it's really subtle! This is amazing! :la:

Wow great work! It's well done for an assignment. ;) Haha, I've been introduced to Cross hatching, hatching, etc recently in school too. Gonna mess around with these new techniques soon.

That's some excellent work Jemi! I can see how crosshatching can simulate lighting and shading depending on how dense it is. Makes it look really professional. Glad to hear your class is going well too.
